Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Principal OT Cybersecurity Engineer in Brisbane to lead and execute high-complexity cybersecurity engineering tasks, coordinating across architecture, engineering, and project management. This role requires IEC 62443, NIST, and ISO 27001 familiarity and significant experience in OT/ICS environments within critical infrastructure.

You will mentor cybersecurity specialists and work onsite to integrate controls across railway subsystems, ensuring secure system architecture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or STEM; Master’s preferred.
• 6–10 years in OT/ICS cybersecurity within critical infra.
• Experience leading technical PM activities and railway projects.
• Knowledge of regional cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ENISA, APAC, etc.).
• Experience in SOC integration and operational handover.
• Cloud or hybrid OT architectures; IEC 62443 required.
• CLC/TS 50701 required for railway deployments; ISO 27001 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Technical authority for OT cybersecurity across engineering teams.
• Approve security solutions, architectures, and design proposals.
• Ensure IEC 62443 and related standards compliance.
• Lead development of SRs, zones, and OT/IT security architecture.
• Coordinate cybersecurity testing, validation, and handover.
• Manage technical projects and stakeholder reviews.
