Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Principal OT Cybersecurity Engineer to lead and execute high‑complexity cybersecurity tasks for OT/ICS in Brisbane. You will align with IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001 frameworks and work across architecture, engineering, and project management.

You will mentor cybersecurity specialists, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure secure integration of signalling, SCADA, telecom, and control systems in railway environments. Onsite role anchored in Brisbane.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related STEM disciplines.
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Information Assurance, or related disciplines preferred.
• 6–10 years of experience in Cybersecurity engineering within OT/ICS environments, transportation, energy, utilities, or other critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead OT cybersecurity engineering tasks and deliver high complexity projects.
• Coordinate technical activities across engineering teams and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001 security requirements.
• Mentor and guide Cybersecurity Specialists within the team.
• Support integration, validation, and assurance of cybersecurity controls across OT/rail subsystems.
