Job summary

Optus seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to develop, configure, and enhance OSS Assurance Systems, aligning with roadmaps and architecture. The role is hands-on with leadership of small teams and vendor resources to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

You will own alarms configurations, provide L3 OSS support, and manage code, builds, and deployments across Linux/Windows, Docker/Kubernetes, and related integration tech. A strong focus on enterprise-scale systems is required.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years IT experience with hands-on software engineering.
• Experience with TeMIP adapter coding and IBM Netcool configuration.
• High-level proficiency in Java and Groovy for enterprise-scale systems.
• Strong database skills across relational, NoSQL and graph databases; SQL and performance tuning.
• Strong development skill in Apache NiFi and Kafka for flow design and integration.
• Strong development skill in Camunda and Drools for BPMN modelling.
• Broad exposure across Linux/Windows, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and integration technologies.
• Proven experience managing vendors or offshore development teams.

Responsibilities

• Management of demands from Optus network for assurance integration and timelines.
• Translating high-level designs into detailed component designs for software implementations.
• Guiding vendor teams to ensure deliverables meet standards, including code reviews.
• Leading in-house developers and vendors to introduce new toolsets for efficiency.
• Own alarms plans and configurations for network function management and restoration.
• Provide L3 support for OSS Operations, diagnosing and implementing fixes.
• Manage source code, build pipelines, and deployment tools.
