Job summary

Davidson is seeking an Oracle Developer to join an established IT team within a utilities sector. You will design, develop, maintain and support Oracle database solutions across critical billing and metering systems, contributing to a major Billing Transformation Program.

You will bring strong Oracle/PLSQL development experience, with exposure to UNIX/Linux scripting and Oracle AQ, plus a track record in troubleshooting and root cause analysis within large, business-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Strong Oracle database development experience.
• Extensive hands-on PL/SQL development experience.
• Experience maintaining and enhancing large existing PL/SQL codebases.
• Experience with Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ).
• Strong database schema design and maintenance capability.
• SQL performance analysis and tuning experience is highly regarded.
• Exposure to UNIX/Linux scripting, including Bash, Korn Shell or Perl.
• Experience with technical design, testing, deployments and release processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with billing, metering or electricity market systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and support Oracle database solutions within a major Billing Transformation Program.
• Contribute to regulatory initiatives, platform enhancements and business-driven projects.
• Engage in technical design, development, testing, deployments, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, technical analysts, business analysts and delivery teams in a structured environment.
