Job summary

Experis Australia in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on Oracle PL/SQL developer for a complex, business-critical application estate on a 12-month contract. You will be in the code every day, solving challenging problems with minimal supervision, learning the existing legacy environment, and keeping it running while untangling years of changes across vendor and in-house components.

There is no architecture or team leadership; this role is pure implementation and maintenance in a structured SDLC

Qualifications

• Hands-on Oracle PL/SQL development in legacy environments.
• Experience working in a large, complex codebase.
• Ability to solve difficult problems with minimal supervision.
• Follows structured SDLC, code reviews and change control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Oracle and PL/SQL solutions across a complex, high-availability portfolio
• Root cause analysis and defect resolution on difficult application and database issues
• Work through a structured SDLC with design governance, code review and change management
• Support environment stability, deployments and vendor release activity
