Job summary

Outback Aussie Tours is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to keep our tour program running smoothly, lead a passionate team, and ensure customers and suppliers experience elite service. This senior role reports to the General Manager and drives efficiency across the business.

You will own the annual activity calendar, manage day-to-day operations for the extended tour program, and implement systems that improve consistency, communication, and performance. Relocation support is offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in an operations management role.
• Proven ability to lead a team, build accountability, and get results through people.
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Clear communicator in writing, in conversation, and face to face.
• Analytical mindset with experience working with operational data.
• Practical problem-solving skills and the drive to see things through.
• Comfortable working with software systems and open to learning new tools.
• Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen living in Australia.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (DTMR, AMSA, ONRSR, WHS, Food Safety).
• Relocation allowance to Longreach and support offered.

Responsibilities

• Own the annual activity calendar, build it, improve it, and keep the whole business on track against it.
• Manage day-to-day operations across the full extended tour program.
• Develop and implement systems that drive consistency, efficiency, and clear communication internally and with suppliers.
• Make sure the operations team has the people, equipment, and resources they need to deliver.
• Oversee multiple venues including events.
• Analyse operational data to check that what we promise our market is what we actually deliver.
• Translate business strategies into practical plans and hold the team accountable for results.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulators, including DTMR Operator Accreditation, AMSA, ONRSR, WHS, and Food Safety frameworks.
• Report regularly to the General Manager with clear, honest operational updates.
• Foster a team culture where people take pride in their work and look out for each other.

About the role
