Journey Beyond is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead culinary operations across our iconic rail journeys. You will oversee a dynamic brigade, delivering native Australian ingredients with creative flair and ensuring an outstanding guest experience on every journey.

You will mentor the team, partner with stakeholders, and drive revenue growth through exceptional quality, service, and innovation. This role requires hands-on leadership on trains and a passion for pushing culinary

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this position will be at the heart of the operations to deliver a culinary vision highlighting the finest, native Australian ingredients throughout our rail journeys and provide our guests with an experience that will ‘go beyond’.

• Ability to multitask between creative and 'hands-on', partner with stakeholders and lead our experienced brigade of Chefs to encourage growth.
• Responsible for creating a strong, positive team environment and relationships with the team, where standards are not simply met, but exceeded.
• Able to enhance financial performance and ensure employee satisfaction is exceeded to drive revenue growth

• Focus on exceptional customer service excellence for our guests and cultivate an experience where this is the standard and this is evidenced through consistent NPS scores.
• Menu design and implementation.
• Supporting the warehouse department through leadership and management of full train provisioning.

About You

• Dynamic and visionary leader.You must be dynamic with a real creative flair.
• It is essential that you are a chef by trade with culinary qualifications - from time to time you will 'jump' onboard the train to immerse yourself with the team.

• Ability to deliver culinary experiences that ‘go beyond’ our guest's expectations

• Approachable, energetic and able to inspire your team. You will love an 'out of the box' idea.

• Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional produce is sourced and enhances the guest’s experiences onboard our train journeys.

• You will be a natural mentor with the ability to enhance your team’s potential and inspire your team.

• Open to a challenge and ability to problem solve effectively when faced with high-pressure situations

• Effective communication to ensure positive relationships across the Rail leadership team.
