Job summary

Transport for NSW – Sydney International Airport NSW is seeking an experienced operations professional to support the delivery of safe, reliable, customer-focused light rail services across Sydney. You will monitor performance, respond to issues and work with operators and stakeholders.

This permanent, full‑time role offers hybrid working from the Elizabeth Street Sydney office with occasional site visits across Sydney.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, service delivery or performance management within a public transport or complex operations environment.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable improvements.
• Willingness to travel and operate autonomously when required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor light rail service and asset performance to meet operational requirements and customer needs.
• Support the management of incidents, service disruptions and emerging issues in a live public transport environment.
• Work with light rail operators to address performance concerns, risks and areas of non-compliance or suboptimal service delivery.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, forecast risks and recommend practical improvements.
• Prepare reports and advice for senior leaders on service performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate light rail service delivery requirements for major cultural and sporting events across Sydney.
• Build collaborative relationships with operators, government agencies and internal teams to achieve safe and reliable customer outcomes.
• Support escalation and resolution of complex operational and performance matters.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen service reliability, transparency, efficiency and value for money.
• Support day-to-day management of operator contracts and maintain accurate records and correspondence related to service performance.
