Job summary

The Technical and Engineering Network is seeking a Mining Engineer to lead open-pit design, scheduling, and on-site planning across Western Australia, collaborating with site teams to translate high-level mine plans into practical execution.

You will apply Surpac for design and pattern layout, drive Drill & Blast and Load & Haul activities, and monitor cost variances while contributing to continuous improvements on WA mine sites.

Qualifications

  • Strong Surpac proficiency for open-pit design and pattern layout.
  • Hands-on Drill & Blast and Load & Haul experience.
  • Ability to support on-site teams with a technical and managerial mindset.
  • Proven track record in production planning, mine scheduling, and cost tracking.
  • Full Australian working rights with tertiary mining qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Create open-pit designs and Drill & Blast patterns using Surpac software.
  • Develop short to mid-term mine schedules for daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  • Optimise Load & Haul workflows to increase site productivity and dirt movement.
  • Track project spending, monitor cost variances, and assist with financial forecasting.
  • Analyse operational site data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
