Job summary

Redpath Mining Inc. is seeking a Mining Engineer to support underground development and production planning at Olympic Dam. The role focuses on coordinating technical plans, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving project execution in a challenging mining environment.

You will engage with clients and contractors, optimize underground operations and contribute to cost forecasting. A relevant engineering degree and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Experience as a Mining Engineer, ideally underground.
• Strong knowledge of underground development and production mining methods.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels.

About the Role

Working an 8 days on, 6 days off roster with 12 hour shifts, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of underground mining operations through planning, technical expertise and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Developing short and long term mine development and production plans
• Monitoring and optimising underground mining activities to achieve contract targets
• Managing engineering and temporary works designs
• Coordinating subcontractor quotations, awards and project execution
• Providing technical support and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and contract specifications
• Supporting project cost control, forecasting and monthly claims
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, safety and operational performance

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience as a Mining Engineer, ideally within an underground mining environment
• Strong knowledge of underground development and production mining methods
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong client and contractor relationships
• Strong analytical, problem solving and planning capabilities
• Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of an organisation
• Current manual driver's licence
• A positive attitude aligned with Redpath's commitment to "Consider it done - safely."
