McKinsey & Company is seeking an experienced Office Services lead for our Sydney office. You will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate support teams, and serve as a subject-matter expert across critical office services workstreams.

Based in our Sydney CBD office, you will collaborate with local leadership and global departments to ensure premium service levels, mentorship for junior staff, and strong partnerships with external vendors, driving an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of workplace services, facilities coordination, or office administration in a professional setting.
  • Proven track record of team leadership, mentoring, or delegating to junior staff.
  • Experience with end-to-end office operations, corporate facilities management, and high-touch hospitality.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, multi-tasking and deadline discipline.
  • Experience liaising with external suppliers and handling invoices.
  • Familiarity with modern productivity software and video-conferencing systems; basic IT/AV troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with WHS regulations, risk prevention, and emergency response procedures.
  • Requires consistent in-person presence in the Sydney CBD office to provide coverage and foster community.
  • Clear and professional communication with senior leadership and external guests.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the flawless day-to-day operation, functionality, and professional presentation of our office environment.

By providing end-to-end operational coordination, leading on-the-ground support teams, and serving as a subject matter expert across critical office services workstreams, you will create an environment where colleagues, leadership, and external guests can do their best work seamlessly.

You will be based in our Sydney Office as an integral member of our Office Services team and this contract is for a duration of 14 months.

You will collaborate daily with local office leadership, colleagues across consulting and operations, and global functional departments—including IT, Real Estate, Finance, and People/HR.

You will act as a team lead and mentor to other Office Services team members, embodying our firm's apprenticeship model by coaching junior colleagues, aligning workflows, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing environment.

You will also cultivate trusted partnerships with external vendors, building management, and specialized service providers to deliver cohesive, premium service standards across all touchpoints.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in workplace services, facilities coordination, or office administration within a professional services or corporate environment
  • Demonstrated track record of team leadership, mentoring, or delegating work to junior staff members
  • Practical knowledge of end-to-end office operations, corporate facilities management, and high-touch hospitality
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple day-to-day priorities, solve problems proactively, and reliably meet deadlines
  • Experience liaising with external suppliers, reviewing vendor performance against service standards, and handling invoice processing
  • Familiarity with modern workplace productivity software, video-conferencing systems, and basic IT/AV troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with WHS statutory regulations, risk prevention, and emergency response procedures
  • Predictable and consistent in-person office presence in our Sydney CBD office is essential for your work to provide direct operational coverage, mentor team members, and foster office community
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills with the poise to interact with senior leadership and external guests
