Wildflower Kids Therapy Pty on the Gold Coast, a family-owned paediatric occupational therapy practice in Mudgeeraba, seeks a Senior Occupational Therapist for a part-time role. You will manage a varied caseload focusing on autistic, ADHD, PDA-profile children and those with developmental delays, helping families achieve functional goals.
Join a neurodiversity-affirming team that values autonomy, mentorship and work-life balance.
Wildflower Kids Therapy is a family-owned, neurodiversity-affirming paediatric occupational therapy practice in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast. We work with autistic children, ADHDers, children with a PDA profile, global developmental delay and learning differences, and with functional goals like toileting, sleep and self-care.
Our approach is grounded in the belief that children aren't broken or in need of fixing. They deserve to be understood, celebrated and supported. We see each child as a whole person, not just through the lens of goals, but with their future in mind: the 20, 30 and 60-year-old they will one day become.
Why Wildflower?
Our name was inspired by Alexander Den Heijer: "When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower." Our role is to shape the environments and supports where children can flourish.
We work hard to make Wildflower feel safe, supportive and affirming, for families and therapists alike. We walk the talk of neurodiversity-affirming practice: respecting autonomy, building trust, valuing authenticity, and putting connection before compliance.
Who you'll be joining
A team that:
Supports children not just for today's goals, but for the adults they will become
Meets families where they are, with compassion and respect
Welcomes every personality and neurotype, because we practise what we preach
Values curiosity, courage and vulnerability. We don't expect you to be perfect, we expect you to be willing to learn, reflect and ask for support when you need it
Gives you freedom to think for yourself, without micromanagement, knowing you'll be backed when things get hard
As a Senior Occupational Therapist with us, you will:
Support a varied caseload of autistic, ADHD and PDA-profile children, and children with global developmental delay and specific learning differences
Work with families on functional goals like toileting, feeding, self-care and daily living, as well as regulation, play and authentic relationships
See a manageable caseload, capped at 5 clients a day, so the focus is quality, not quantity
Provide clinical supervision and mentoring for our early-career OTs, and help shape how we practise as a team
Support families funded through the NDIS, Medicare and privately
Work with families, educators and other health professionals, including our onsite speech pathologist
Provide therapy and advocacy in clinic, at schools, kindergartens and homes, and by telehealth
We're looking for someone who:
Holds general registration as an Occupational Therapist with Ahpra
Has 5+ years of paediatric OT experience, including supervising or mentoring others
Is committed to neurodiversity-affirming practice and open to continuous growth
Brings warmth, curiosity and authenticity to their work
Is confident working independently and knows the strength in asking for support
Focuses on connection, not compliance
Has a driver's licence and their own car for mobile sessions
What the role offers:
$95,000 – $110,000 per year (full-time equivalent)
If you want to be part of a team where your voice matters and your values fit, we'd love to hear from you.
