Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years enterprise networking experience including design and pre-sales/consulting.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN and network security.
• Certs such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP or HCIP/HCIE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end enterprise network solutions covering Wi‑Fi, SD‑WAN, data centre networking, security, routing and switching.
• Prepare high-level and low-level designs, BoMs and migration plans to meet requirements.
• Lead discovery workshops to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations and PoCs for technical and executive audiences.
• Prepare responses to RFPs/RFIs and assist with pricing, licensing and risk assessment.
• Provide training and support to channel partners for joint engagements.
• Stay informed on enterprise networking trends and competitors to strengthen recommendations.
• Collaborate with sales, product and R&D to ensure smooth handover to delivery teams.

Huawei Australia is hiring a Senior Network Solution Engineer to design enterprise network solutions and provide technical leadership across Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, data centre networking, security, routing and switching. The role includes customer engagement, pre-sales support and partner enablement.

Job responsibilities:

• Solution Design: Design end-to-end enterprise network solutions covering Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, data centre networking, security, routing and switching, with storage and cloud integration where required.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD), bills of materials (BoMs) and migration plans, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements for performance, scalability and security.
• Customer Engagement: Lead discovery workshops to understand customer challenges, assess existing infrastructure and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations and proofs of concept (PoCs), clearly communicating solution benefits to technical and executive audiences.
• Tender & Commercial Support: Prepare responses to RFPs/RFIs and tenders, and work with sales teams on pricing, licensing, competitive positioning and technical risk assessment.
• Partner Enablement: Provide technical training, solution workshops and support to channel partners, including joint customer engagements.
• Market Insight: Stay informed of enterprise networking trends, emerging technologies and competitor offerings to strengthen solution recommendations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales, product and R&D teams to address customer requirements, resolve technical issues and support a smooth handover to delivery teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of enterprise networking experience, including solution design and customer-facing pre-sales or technical consulting.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN and network security.
• Experience with Huawei, Cisco, Juniper, HPE Aruba, Fortinet or comparable technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure networking; storage and backup knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP or HCIP/HCIE preferred.
