Job summary

Optus is seeking a network observability expert to lead deployment, configuration and maintenance of probes across 5G/4G, voice and cloud environments. You will transform telemetry into actionable insights, collaborating with Operations, Engineering and Analytics to improve performance and customer experience.

You will shape tooling, APIs and dashboards using Splunk, Grafana and other platforms, while driving automation and scalable network monitoring initiatives in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with telecom network architectures (Core, RAN, Transport, IP/MPLS, 4G/5G, voice and cloud-native).
• Design, deployment and optimisation of network monitoring using probe tech (Polystar, Niometrics, Netscout, TAPs).
• Strong OSS integration, API development and data exchange across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, configuration and maintenance of network probe infrastructure for reliable telemetry.
• Drive telemetry strategies and real-time visibility into network health, performance and capacity.
• Integrate probe data with OSS, analytics and monitoring platforms via APIs and pipelines.
• Analyse telemetry to identify trends and optimisation opportunities; translate to improvements.
• Develop automation, alerts and reporting with Operations and Engineering teams.
