Job summary

The Reserve Bank of Australia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead provisioning, security hardening and performance testing of complex network infrastructures in Sydney. The role emphasizes SD-WAN, ACI, Azure Cloud and cyber security collaboration.

You will drive end-to-end project delivery, manage change, write technical documentation and contribute to next-gen networks in a Hybrid/On-site environment. Fixed-term until 30 June 2027 with a strong team focus.

Qualifications

• Degree preferred in IT coupled with Industry accreditations in Cisco and ITIL
• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure covering LANs and WANs
• Strong experience with Firewalls Cisco and/or Palo Alto and management tools such as CSM
• Proven experience delivering wireless network migrations with Meraki and Fortinet is highly regarded
• Strong expertise with network tools such as Cisco DNA Centre
• Strong expertise with F5 (LTM, GTM and BIGIQ) and SD-WAN
• Lead end-to-end project delivery with ownership and milestones
• Experience writing policies and procedures and other support documentation
• Ability or willingness to learn Python and scripting for automation
• Good general IT infrastructure and service management knowledge
• Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform and network management tools like Infoblox

Responsibilities

• Provision, maintain, security hardening, capacity planning and performance testing of network infrastructure
• Participate in 2nd line IT incident and security response capability for network infrastructure
• Produce design docs, automation scripts, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions
• Improve, harden, test, implement, monitor and tune networking software/hardware for performance
• Analyze network traffic data and provide recommendations on performance and security improvements
• Undertake acceptance tests and commissioning of communications systems and equipment
• Occasional work at Bella Vista Business Resumption Site
• Collaborate with cyber security to remediate vulnerabilities
