Job summary

Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury campus, is seeking a Network Engineer at HEW level 8 to deliver secure, high-performing network services across multiple campuses. You will implement, operate and continuously improve the university's network, diagnose incidents, and work with Cisco, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto and other vendors while supporting Zero Trust and network segmentation.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Network Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience implementing, supporting and operating enterprise networks.
• Experience with segmentation/Zero Trust or network access control.
• Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, QoS, and segmentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical expertise across implementation, operation, and maintenance of the University network.
• Diagnose complex incidents and monitor network health across a multi-campus environment.
• Support technologies including Cisco, HPE Aruba, ClearPass, Palo Alto, Ruckus, Citrix ADC/NetScaler.
• Contribute to segmentation, Zero Trust and network access control initiatives.
• Coordinate with vendors and MSPs to transition new services into BAU operations.
