Job summary

NEC Australia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support enterprise environments in Western Sydney. The role is field services and customer operations with a hybrid working arrangement for a 4-month fixed-term contract.

You will be the primary technical contact for operational issues, providing hands-on support across network, wireless, security and data centre environments while maintaining strong customer service and collaboration with vendors and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting across LAN, WLAN, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, IP networking.
• Experience with Aruba switching and wireless technologies.
• Exposure to Aruba ClearPass and Palo Alto firewalls.

Western Sydney | Hybrid Working Arrangement | 4-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Initial Engagement)

NEC Australia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer - Field Services & Customer Operations to join our Managed Services team supporting a key enterprise customer in Western Sydney.

This is an initial 4-month fixed-term engagement offering a hybrid working arrangement, combining onsite customer support with remote collaboration. As the primary technical contact for operational issues, you will provide hands-on support across network, wireless, security and infrastructure environments while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote support for network, wireless and security services.
• Investigate and resolve connectivity, switching, VLAN and firewall-related incidents.
• Support Aruba switching, wireless and ClearPass environments.
• Assist with Palo Alto firewall operations, troubleshooting and monitoring.
• Perform authorised data centre hands-and-eyes activities, including cabling and equipment inspections.
• Work closely with customer stakeholders, end users, vendors and specialist engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate incident, request and change records through ITSM platforms.
• Deliver clear communication and a high standard of customer service.

About You

You are a hands-on Network Engineer with experience supporting enterprise environments and a strong customer-first approach.

Experience & Skills

• Network engineering, field services, infrastructure support or network operations experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across LAN, WLAN, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and IP networking.
• Experience with Aruba switching and wireless technologies.
• Exposure to Aruba ClearPass and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Experience working in enterprise or managed services environments.
• Data centre support and ITSM experience highly regarded.

Desirable Certifications

• Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA) or Professional (ACSP)
• Aruba ClearPass Certification
• ITIL Foundation
