Job summary

Medibank is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Network Operations team on a 9-month daily rate contract. The role spans Australia-wide enterprise networks across retail stores, offices and data centers, with exposure to Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco and Zscaler.

You’ll work with infrastructure, security and cloud teams to keep networks secure, reliable and high-performing. You'll contribute to maintaining, optimising and modernising our network landscape, driving operational excellence

Qualifications

• Stronger operational network engineering experience in complex environments.
• Fortinet firewalls, VPN, switching and wireless technologies experience preferred.
• Palo Alto firewalls and VPN solutions familiarity desired.
• Enterprise network operations and support experience advantageous.

• Managing, maintaining, and patching enterprise firewall environments
• Supporting switching, routing, wireless access point, and VPN infrastructure
• Troubleshooting complex network issues and driving operational improvements

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing, maintaining, and patching enterprise firewall environments
• Supporting switching, routing, wireless access point, and VPN infrastructure

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring strong operational network engineering experience within complex environments.

Ideally you'll have experience with:

• Fortinet firewalls, VPN, switching, and wireless technologies
• Palo Alto firewalls and VPN solutions
• Cisco switching and network infrastructure
• Enterprise network operations and support
• Firewall lifecycle management, upgrades, and patching
• Troubleshooting across large-scale, multi-site environments

Highly regarded:

• Exposure to Zscaler
• Experience working in large, regulated environments such as healthcare, financial services, insurance, government, or other compliance-driven industries
• Familiarity with network security best practices and governance requirements
• F5 exposure
