Job summary

Medibank Private Limited is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the ahm Core & Enabling Apps Squad. You will define the technical strategy, set engineering standards and shape the technology roadmap for core platform applications.

You'll drive cloud transformation, platform modernization, and AI-enabled delivery while mentoring engineers and influencing decisions across senior stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role in a complex enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading software engineering, solution design and technology delivery within complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies, cloud-native engineering and modern platform architectures.
• Proven experience designing and delivering distributed systems and scalable enterprise platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms, modern DevSecOps practices and engineering automation.
• Demonstrated success leading engineering transformation and modernisation initiatives.
• Experience implementing observability, monitoring and operational excellence practices at scale.
• Proven ability to influence technical decisions and build alignment across senior stakeholders, squads and domains.
• Experience driving adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and emerging technologies.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Lead innovation, proof‑of‑concept initiatives and continuous improvement programs that reduce technical debt and accelerate business outcomes.
