Job summary

Insignia Financial in Melbourne seeks an experienced Systems Engineer - Network to design, implement and support our enterprise network across a diverse technology landscape. You will manage monitoring, security and performance to ensure service reliability for critical business functions.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in network engineering or operations support.
  • Experience in WAN, LAN and Wireless in large environments.
  • Hands-on TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and PBR.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco or Arista BGP EVPN VXLAN data centre solutions.
  • Experience with VLAN, VXLAN, VRF, QoS, SD-WAN, IPSEC, STP; IaC/CI/CD.
  • Experience with Radware Alteon and Citrix NetScaler load balancers.
  • Current CCNP certification (or equivalent); AWS/GCP cloud networking beneficial

  • Analyse network requirements and contribute to the design, integration and deployment of network solutions.
  • Monitor network performance, capacity and availability, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Respond to network incidents and undertake remediation activities to support business continuity and service reliability.
  • Manage, prioritise and maintain accurate incident records through service management tools, ensuring timely resolution in line with service levels.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation while collaborating with internal teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure services and project outcomes.

The opportunity to join our team

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer - Network to join our Client & Technology division and play a key role in supporting and enhancing our enterprise network environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering, administration, monitoring and ongoing optimisation of network infrastructure across a complex and diverse technology landscape. Working closely with infrastructure and project teams, you will contribute to the delivery of network initiatives while ensuring the stability, performance and security of critical business services. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on networking professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, administer and maintain network hardware, software and monitoring platforms.

What You Will Bring
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with 3-5 years' experience in a similar network engineering or operations support role.
  • Proven experience working within large, complex network environments, including WAN, LAN and Wireless technologies.
  • Hands-on technical expertise across TCP/IP networking and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and PBR.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco or Arista BGP EVPN VXLAN data centre solutions.
  • Experience with modern networking technologies including VLAN, VXLAN, VRF, QoS, SD-WAN, IPSEC and STP, along with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD practices.
  • Experienced in configuring and managing load balancing solutions using Radware Alteon and Citrix NetScaler.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and a current Cisco CCNP certification (or equivalent), AWS and GCP cloud networking experience beneficial
