Job summary

Hannover Re Australia is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney. You will develop new software applications and enhance existing systems, while maintaining cloud environments and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

The role requires extensive experience with C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Power BI, plus strong Azure and DevOps knowledge. A Scrum-friendly mindset and secure coding practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline is desirable.
• Minimum 8 years' experience as a .NET Developer.
• Advanced skills in C#, Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, and Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud environments and CI/CD practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of secure coding principles, including OWASP practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a Scrum team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop new software applications and enhance existing ones using the Microsoft technology stack.
• Maintain and support staging and production cloud environments.
• Conduct code reviews and implement unit testing for quality delivery.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, business stakeholders, and end users to deliver outcomes.
• Ensure compliance, risk management, and governance within the software lifecycle.
