Job summary

Hannover Re is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney. You will develop new software applications and enhance, maintain and support existing systems.

Reporting to the Application Development Manager, you will work within a Scrum team to deliver secure, high-quality software using C#, .NET, SQL Server and Power BI. The role requires 8+ years of .NET experience, strong Azure/cloud expertise, and a focus on secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (desirable).
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a .NET Developer.
• Strong skills in C#, .NET, SQL Server and Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud environments and CI/CD practices, including IaC and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of secure coding principles, OWASP practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance software applications using the Microsoft technology stack.
• Implement user stories and requirements from sprint planning; participate in Scrum ceremonies.
• Conduct code reviews and unit testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Support and maintain staging and production cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot defects and issues for clients and internal users; collaborate with stakeholders.
