Kantoko is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to own and evolve the patient mobile app (React Native). You will shape the product's technical direction, implement features, and work with design, product, and operations to scale the app for patients.

You'll ship weekly improvements, enhance performance and reliability, and partner with designers and engineers to deliver great user experiences while maintaining fast, stable releases.

Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native)

ADHD care is broken, but we're fixing it. Kantoko makes high quality ADHD care accessible, from diagnosis to long term support and care.

This is a rare opportunity to be an early engineer in a fast-moving startup led by a successful founder (prev startup acquired by American Express). You'll have an outsized impact on the product, processes, and engineering culture.

We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native) who loves their craft and is excited to take ownership of our patient mobile app and help shape the future of mental health care.

About The Role

Kantoko already has a live patient mobile app used as part of how our patients access and manage their care.

As Kantoko's Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll take ownership of that app and be responsible for making it better every week: shipping new features, improving the patient experience, strengthening the technical foundations, and helping us scale the product as we grow.

• Own the Patient Mobile App and its ongoing technical direction, architecture and development.
• Ship new patient-facing features from idea through to production, working closely with product, design, engineering and operations.
• Turn sometimes very rough ideas and patient problems into well-scoped features and shipped code.
• Evolve our mobile architecture, testing strategy and release pipeline as the product grows.
• Own the quality and reliability of the mobile experience, including performance, crash reporting, analytics, monitoring and error handling.
• Maintain a fast and predictable release cadence across the App Store and Play Store using Expo EAS, CI/CD and over-the-air updates.
• Build and improve core mobile functionality including push notifications, deep links, secure/auth flows, permissions and accessibility.
• Improve existing parts of the app where the product or technical experience could be better - whether that means simplifying a flow, improving performance or paying down the right technical debt.
• We see engineers as problem solvers - you'll be involved directly in the what, when and how of product development, not just handed tickets.

What You'll Bring

• You're excited about joining an early-stage startup and taking full ownership of our mobile app.
• You ship fast and iterate fast - you're comfortable getting features into users' hands and improving them weekly.
• You have deep experience with React Native and Expo, and strong TypeScript proficiency.
• You have shipped at least one meaningful mobile app to production (App Store / Play Store) as a primary contributor and supported it in the wild.
• Your architecture instincts are solid: navigation, state management, error handling, etc.
• You're passionate about great performance and smooth UX.
• You're pragmatic and know how to prioritise effectively.
• You're excited to work closely with designers and other engineers to ship great experiences.

• Mobile: React Native + Expo
• Backend: APIs built on Python/Django (existing web platform)
