Job summary

Talent Corp is recruiting for a Senior Mobile Application Software Engineer to design, build and support native mobile apps and integrations in a hybrid Melbourne/Geelong-based program. The role focuses on React Native in TypeScript, with iOS and Android delivery, accessibility, and API integration.

You will work in a digital transformation program moving front-end experiences from Salesforce to React Native, contributing across design, development, testing and release within an Agile team.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing and releasing mobile applications across both iOS and Android.
• Expertise with React Native and TypeScript in a mid-to-large scale delivery environment.
• Experience bridging React Native to native layers via Expo or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture, components, state management and maintainable code.
• Experience integrating mobile apps with REST/GraphQL APIs and authentication services.

Senior Mobile Application Software Engineer/Developer (EL1)

Our client is a large values-focused Federal Government Agency seeking Senior Mobile Application Developers / Software Engineers to design, build and support native mobile applications, systems and integrations across a major digital delivery environment.

This is a rare opportunity to join a newly mobilised digital transformation program focused on modernising front-end portals and native mobile applications. The program is moving from Salesforce-based front-end experiences to React Native in TypeScript across iOS, Android and Google app environments, offering strong longevity and the chance to help shape critical digital products from early delivery through to ongoing enhancement.

The role will suit experienced mobile engineers with strong React Native, TypeScript, iOS/Android, accessibility, API integration and modern software delivery experience.

ROLE DETAILS:

Location: Melbourne or Geelong VIC (must be based in VIC)
Contract: 12 months + 12-month extension option
Working arrangement: Hybrid 2/3 split

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll join a digital delivery team responsible for critical mobile applications, digital portals, integration services and API capabilities.

You will design, build, deploy and support mobile applications and integrations that are secure, accessible, scalable and fit for purpose. Working in an Agile delivery environment, you’ll collaborate with business stakeholders, local technical teams, BAs, Project Leads, QA and other IT teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong involvement across technical design, development, code review, testing support, accessibility, integration and long-term product enhancement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build, enhance and support mobile applications across iOS and Android using React Native and TypeScript.
• Work across a new digital transformation program modernising mobile apps and front-end portal experiences.
• Develop mobile components from UI designs and collaborate closely with UX/UI, business and technical teams.
• Integrate mobile applications with back-end services, including REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication and performance tracking.
• Contribute to technical design, documentation, development, testing and release activities across the full SDLC.
• Maintain code quality through peer reviews, clean coding practices and support of large codebases.
• Ensure applications meet security, accessibility and quality standards, including WCAG and mobile accessibility guidelines.
• Work closely with QA teams to support automated testing, integration testing and end-to-end testing.
• Support CI/CD, deployment and ongoing product improvement within an Agile delivery environment.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Strong commercial experience developing and releasing mobile applications across both iOS and Android.
• Advanced React Native and TypeScript experience is essential.
• Experience with Expo is highly regarded, particularly bridging React Native to native layers such as Kotlin, Java, Swift or Objective-C.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, reusable components, state management and maintainable code practices.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services and back-end platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to develop accessible mobile applications aligned to Apple, Google and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Experience writing or supporting automated unit, component, integration and functional testing.
• Comfortable working in Agile delivery teams with BAs, UX/UI Designers, QA, Product and technical stakeholders.
• DevOps exposure highly regarded, including GitHub CI/CD, Artifactory, HashiCorp Vault, Docker, Kubernetes or Helm.
• Ability to work across technical design, development, code review, deployment and long‑term application support.
