Job summary

MTP Services is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Developer in Melbourne to lead development of secure, scalable mobile apps for a large-scale federal environment. You’ll work across iOS and Android, building with React Native and TypeScript, and bridging to native technologies.

You’ll contribute to design, development, testing and deployment, collaborating with analysts, UX/UI designers and QA to ensure accessibility and high-quality delivery across the full SDLC.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial experience developing and releasing React Native apps for iOS and Android.
• Strong TypeScript experience.
• Experience with Expo, including Expo Modules.
• Proven ability to bridge React Native with native technologies like Kotlin, Java, Swift or Objective‑C.
• Experience maintaining large, complex mobile codebases.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
• Experience developing automated tests (unit, component, integration, functional).
• Strong experience integrating REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Ability to translate UI designs into high‑quality mobile components.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tooling.

What we're looking for:

• Experience maintaining and improving large, complex codebases.
• Strong understanding of mobile accessibility, including WCAG 2.1 and Apple/Google accessibility guidelines.
• Experience developing automated unit, component, integration and functional tests.
• Strong experience integrating applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services and monitoring/metrics tooling.
• Experience converting UI designs into high‑quality mobile components and collaborating closely with UX/UI designers.

Experience with GitHub CI/CD, Artifactory, HashiCorp Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Go and backend JavaScript/TypeScript will be highly regarded.

Exposure to modern AI‑assisted development practices, including spec‑driven development, will also be advantageous.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a senior delivery environment and contributing across the full software development lifecycle.
