Job summary

Peoplebank seeks a React Native Developer to own a greenfield mobile project from architecture to App Store submission, based onsite in Roseville, NSW. You will work within a growing engineering team to build features, ensure performance, and wrap a web app with Capacitor for native capabilities.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on mobile experience with React Native and a proven track record publishing to App Store and Google Play, plus strong React and Capacitor skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mobile development experience with React Native as the primary framework.
• Proven track record of publishing and maintaining apps on App Store and Google Play.
• Working knowledge of Capacitor; wrapping a web app and adding native functionality.
• Solid React skills: component model, state management, and hooks.
• Experience managing the full release pipeline: code signing, build tools, store submissions, and staged rollouts.
• Ability to produce technical documentation before and during development.

Responsibilities

With significant investment underway in artificial intelligence and the next evolution of their platform, our client is looking for a React Native Developer who is excited by the opportunity to build intelligent, scalable products that solve real-world business challenges.

You’ll be joining a growing engineering team where you’ll play a key role in a greenfield build with a clear brief, and you will drive it from architecture through to App Store submission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the existing React Native codebase - understand it, document gaps, and extend it
• Build new features
• Maintain performance, reliability, and compatibility across iOS and Android
• Architect and build a new app that wraps our client’s mobile website using Capacitor
• Implement native features via Capacitor plugins - push notifications, camera, offline storage, and device APIs
• Define the integration points between the web layer and native capabilities

  Please note, a mandatory requirement is to be oniste 4 days a week at the office based in Roseville.

About You

• 3+ years of hands-on mobile development experience, with React Native as your primary framework
• Proven track record of publishing and maintaining apps on both the App Store and Google Play

• Working knowledge of Capacitor - you have wrapped a web application and added native functionality
• Solid React skills - comfortable with the component model, state management, and hooks
• Experience managing the full release pipeline: code signing, build tools, store submissions, and staged rollouts
• Able to take requirements and produce appropriate technical documentation before and during development

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with Expo or managed React Native workflows
• Familiarity with TypeScript in both React Native and React contexts
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar)
• Exposure to IoT, field operations, or utility monitoring applications
• Comfortable contributing to a Node.js/TypeScript backend when mobile work intersects with APIs
