You will design, develop, deploy and support enterprise mobile applications for Android and iOS using React Native and TypeScript in a modern Agile environment.

We are seeking four experienced Senior Mobile Application Software Engineers to join a high performing digital delivery team responsible for developing and enhancing critical mobile applications used by Australians nationwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for senior mobile developers who are passionate about building secure, accessible and scalable digital solutions while working in a modern Agile environment.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Mobile Application Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, deploying and supporting enterprise mobile applications across both Android and iOS platforms. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, designers, quality assurance specialists and project leaders, you will help deliver innovative digital solutions that provide exceptional user experiences.

This role requires strong technical leadership, problem solving capability and a commitment to delivering high quality, maintainable software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and support mobile applications and integrations.
• Build high quality React Native applications for Android and iOS platforms.
• Ensure solutions align with architectural standards, security requirements and best practices.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to project planning and delivery.

• Work closely with QA teams to support automated testing and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure applications meet accessibility and usability standards.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services, APIs and authentication platforms.
• Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to ongoing application support and maintenance.

Essential Experience

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

• Extensive experience developing and releasing mobile applications on both Android and iOS using React Native and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Expo, including building and maintaining production applications.
• Proven experience bridging React Native applications with native Android and iOS components using Kotlin, Java, Swift and Objective-C.
• Experience working within large, complex codebases and delivering clean, maintainable and scalable code.
• Strong understanding of mobile accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1, Apple Accessibility Guidelines and Google Accessibility Guidelines.
• Experience creating automated unit, component, integration and functional tests.
• Experience integrating with backend systems using RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Strong ability to translate UI/UX designs into responsive, high quality mobile interfaces.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and collaboration skills.

Highly Desirable Experience

• Experience leveraging AI development tools and spec driven development approaches.
• DevOps experience including CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance using GitHub, Artifactory and HashiCorp Vault.
• Exposure to backend development using technologies such as Golang and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• End to end SDLC experience covering design, development, deployment, code reviews and ongoing support.
• Ability and willingness to participate in after hours on call support rosters when required.

Requirements

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
• Hold a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
• Availability to work 37.5 hours per week.
• Ability to work onsite a minimum of three days per week, with flexibility for the remaining days.
