Job summary

Neara is shaping the next generation of energy utilities by building AI-enabled digital twins of power grids. The Senior MLOps Engineer will design and run end-to-end ML pipelines, from data ingestion to models running in production, across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You’ll deploy CI/CD for models, monitor model health, and optimize training on GPU clusters while managing costs and latency for global customers. Redfern office with flexible work options complements the global team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and operating ML training pipelines, model serving, and monitoring systems in production.
• Strong Python and working knowledge of PyTorch to debug training jobs.
• Experience with distributed training and GPU infrastructure, including scheduling, resource management, and diagnosing throughput or memory issues.
• Experience in the cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with production model monitoring, data quality frameworks, and preparing training data for ML readiness.
• Sound engineering judgement - write maintainable code and consider failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate ML pipelines - end-to-end training, evaluation, and deployment in customer environments.
• Automate the path to production - CI/CD for models, artefacts and registries, reproducible environments, and IaC.
• Keep production models healthy - monitoring, alerting, drift and data quality checks.
• Run distributed training infrastructure - manage GPU clusters and scheduling across cloud, on‑prem, and neocloud.
• Ship reliable serving infrastructure - deploy and scale inference services with attention to latency and costs.
• Remove friction for the ML team - improve tooling and workflows and document standards as the team grows.
