Peabody Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead capital and operational improvement projects across our mining operations in Queensland. You will own project planning, execution and delivery, ensuring safety, cost control and schedule adherence while guiding multidisciplinary teams.

In this high‑impact role you will influence strategy, manage budgets and stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement to sustain long‑term business performance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering capital, operational or infrastructure projects.
• Strong project management, planning and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, contractors and project risks.
• Strong commercial, technical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
• A commitment to Safety, Integrity, Operational Excellence and Courageous Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of mining and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and performance outcomes.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and manage project risks while driving safe work practices.
• Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise across project lifecycles.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory requirements and company processes.
• Prepare project reports, forecasts and business case documentation.
