Job summary

Peabody Energy in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to support the Wambo Tailings Rehabilitation Project and broader mining initiatives across Australia. The role emphasizes design, sequencing, and stakeholder engagement, with base in the Brisbane Office and travel to sites as needed.

You will lead engineering and technical support, develop designs, and coordinate with operators to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and efficient logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in open-cut and underground mining operations.
• Proven experience in mine design, rehabilitation planning, and mine infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in mine planning software Deswik, Vulcan, AutoCAD, Spry.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Current Australian Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead mining engineering and technical support for the Wambo Tailings Rehabilitation Projects.
• Develop and manage designs and operational sequencing plans.
• Liaise with the open cut mine operator to coordinate mine waste material supply and logistics.
• Provide engineering and technical support into mining and infrastructure designs at other Peabody Operations in Australia.
• Collaborate with site teams and project stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational and environmental objectives.
• Support approvals processes through technical documentation and design validation.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and reporting.
• Assist with special projects within the Technical Services Group, including Business Development, Continuous Improvement initiatives, Software Evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with Peabody's safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Travel to other Peabody sites as required to support mining and infrastructure initiatives.
