Job summary

Glencore Australia is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer – Short Term Planning to lead the development and delivery of short-term mine designs, ensuring safe, efficient execution of development, production, and services at Mt Isa operations.

The role requires translating medium- and long-term plans into actionable short-term strategies, providing technical leadership to the mining engineering team, and continuously optimizing drill and blast and mine design practices to align with production

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related subject.
• 6–8 years mining engineering experience, preferably underground hard rock.
• Experience in short-term mine planning, drill and blast design, and operational mine design.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the preparation and delivery of short-term mine designs and plans for safe, efficient execution.
• Translate medium- and long-term mine plans into practical short-term execution strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the mining engineering team.
• Optimise mine design, planning, and drill and blast practices to meet production targets.
