Job summary

Glencore Australia is seeking a Mining Engineer - Medium Term Planning for the George Fisher Mine, a large underground operation in Queensland. The role involves developing and refining medium-term mine plans and schedules to support production and development targets, with emphasis on translating long-term strategies into practical sequences.

You will work from Brisbane or be FIFO to Mt Isa, or based in Mt Isa, with exposure to Deswik or Surpac and a strong understanding of underground methods.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining with planning/scheduling exposure.
• Ability to translate constraints into practical mine plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain medium-term mine plans and schedules.
• Integrate geological, geotechnical, ventilation and operational constraints into plans.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize stope sequencing and development timing.
