Glencore Australia invites a seasoned Geotechnical Practice Lead to join the Mt Isa operation. You will provide technical leadership across geotechnical monitoring, excavation stability, support design and risk management, delivering safe and value-adding outcomes.

Based in Mt Isa, the role offers a substantial salary package with 13% super, and options for residential housing or FIFO. The position emphasizes leadership, practical operational focus and team capability development.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive underground metalliferous mining geotechnical experience.
• Experience in ground control, excavation performance, support design.
• Knowledge of TARPs, inspections, instrumentation and reconciliation processes.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical monitoring and support design across the operation.
• Drive stope design guideline optimization and risk management.
• Provide technical leadership and training to the geotechnical team.
• Collaborate with Technical Services and Superintendent on safe outcomes.
