Job summary

BHP Group is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for an open-cut coal operation in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. You will lead safe, efficient mine designs and short/medium-term schedules, partnering with operations and technical services to optimise performance.

The role offers exposure to a large-scale mining environment with cross-functional collaboration and opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic project planning team.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in mining engineering and strong open-cut coal mine planning experience.
• 5+ years in dragline/truck-and-shovel design, scheduling and operations.
• Experience with drill & blast is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe, efficient, and productive mine plans and schedules for open-cut coal operations.
• Collaborate with operations, technical services and leadership to achieve business objectives.
• Lead diverse planning tasks including draglines, prestrip, coal mining, drill & blast and 90-day schedule.
