Alchemy Recruitment Consulting – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Mining Engineer for an open-cut coal mine. You will develop short-term mine plans, review methods, and communicate plans to operations while ensuring safety and compliance across a large-scale operation.

Ideal candidates have open-cut coal mining experience, strong planning software skills (Vulcan/Deswik/Spry), and solid collaboration with technical teams. FIFO options, 8/6 roster, camp accommodations, and salary packaging are on offer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification, preferably in Mining.
• Current Standard 11 & Current Queensland Coal Board Medical.
• Strong working knowledge of Vulcan, Deswik, Spry or equivalent mine planning software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Full work rights in Australia required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver short-term mine plans and schedules.
• Review open-cut mining methods and equipment to identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
• Communicate mining plans to operational personnel and monitor compliance against schedules.
• Provide technical advice on mine planning, mining methodologies and operational matters.
• Support production capture, reporting and the preparation of monthly progress claims.
• Build strong working relationships with operations teams, clients and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Drill and Blast Engineers, Geologists, Surveyors and other technical specialists.
• Ensure compliance with site safety, health, environmental and statutory requirements.
