Job summary

Ramelius Resources Ltd is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer – Open Pit to join the Mt Magnet operation on an eight weeks on, six weeks off FIFO roster from Perth. You will provide technical leadership across mine planning, scheduling, design, and operating execution.

You will lead open pit and drill and blast designs, contribute to short- and long-term planning, and work with site teams to hit production targets while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring risk controls are in place.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering with open pit gold mining experience.
• Strong mine scheduling and open pit design experience.
• Competency with Surpac and Deswik.
• Advanced Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
• Knowledge of mining legislation and safety standards.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across open pit mine planning, design, scheduling and operational execution.
• Lead open pit and drill and blast designs to maximise ore value.
• Provide strategic input into short, medium and long-term mine planning and operational strategy.
• Work closely with operational teams to support the safe and efficient delivery of production targets.
• Assist the Open Pit Mining Manager with plans, budgets and targets to ensure they are effectively achieved within guidelines.
• Monitor mining performance and costs against budget, identifying opportunities to improve operational and financial performance.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to Mining Engineers.
• Ensure engineering designs incorporate appropriate risk management and operational controls.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer - Open Pit to join our team at Mt Magnet on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth. Reporting to the Open Pit Mining Manager, you'll provide technical leadership across mine planning, scheduling, design and operational execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical leadership across open pit mine planning, design, scheduling and operational execution.
• Lead and contribute to open pit and drill and blast designs that maximise the value of the orebody.
• Provide strategic input into short, medium and long-term mine planning and operational strategy.
• Work closely with operational teams to support the safe and efficient delivery of production targets.
• Assist the Open Pit Mining Manager with plans, budgets and targets to ensure they are effectively achieved within guidelines.
• Monitor mining performance and costs against budget, identifying opportunities to improve operational and financial performance.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to Mining Engineers.
• Ensure engineering designs incorporate appropriate risk management and operational controls.

About You

You are an experienced Senior Mining Engineer who combines strong technical capability with a practical, operational approach. You enjoy working closely with site teams and have the confidence to provide technical guidance, solve complex problems and influence mining outcomes.

You'll Ideally Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and solid experience in an open pit gold mining environment.
• Strong mine scheduling and open pit mine design experience.
• Competency with Surpac and Deswik.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting and data analysis.
• Technical and working knowledge of relevant mining legislation.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritise workloads.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and sound judgement, with the ability to solve problems and remove obstacles.
• WA \"C\" Class Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
• WA Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency.
