Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer – Medium Term Planning based in Moranbah, QLD. The role focuses on developing 3 months to 5-year mine plans that support safe and efficient operations, coordinating with operations and technical teams to ensure practical, optimised outputs.

Applicants should hold a Mining Engineering degree with proven medium-term planning experience in open-cut coal, and be proficient in SPRY, Vulcan and Deswik.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Proven experience in medium term planning within an open cut coal operation.
• Proficiency using SPRY, Vulcan and Deswik mine planning software.
• Strong understanding of mine planning principles and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain medium term mine plans and schedules.
• Produce designs and forecasts aligned with production targets.
• Ensure plans are safe, practical, and executable by operations.
• Monitor plan performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.
