Job summary

BHP Group in Queensland seeks an experienced Engineer Production to provide planning support to Production Superintendents in an autonomous haulage environment. You will use solid mine planning skills and operational experience to develop and execute short-term plans and schedules across the Bowen Basin.

We seek a Degree qualified Mining Engineer with +3 years Open Cut experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with MS Office and Vulcan mining software.

Qualifications

• Degree Qualified Mining Engineer with Open Cut experience.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative approach.
• Ability to engage with all levels of the business.
• Proficient use of production systems, MS Office suite and mining software including Vulcan.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning support to Production Superintendents.
• Develop Mine Short Range Forecast (SRF) and identify improvements for performance and safety.
• Analyse and report weekly/monthly performance.
• Support Week +1 horizon interactions to ensure SRF delivery.
• Define performance trends and recommend improvements.
• Optimise dig and dump sequence to maximise productivity.
