Job summary

Adelaide University is seeking a Counsellor/Case Manager & Community Support Worker to join the Student Experience and Success portfolio. The role focuses on triage, crisis intervention, and connecting students to appropriate supports to promote safety and wellbeing on campus.

The position is 0.6 FTE, part-time, for a fixed term of 6 months, reporting to the Senior Manager, Student Wellbeing and Safety. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for professional registration in Australia.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated high-level experience working in the mental health sector supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
• Experience in providing intake and assessment, including triage using appropriate risk assessment tools.
• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate empathy and communicate effectively with distressed individuals and those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong skills in prioritizing work in a pressured environment.
• Eligibility to register with the Psychology Board of Australia through The Australian Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and/or the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or recognised specialist qualifications in Mental Health Nursing is also required.
