Job summary

Key Health is seeking Senior Medical Receptionists to lead front desk operations across our Sydney clinics. You’ll work with the Practice Manager to keep the clinic organized, deliver exceptional patient experiences, and mentor reception staff.

Multiple opportunities exist across CBD, Castle Hill, and St Leonards locations. The role involves hands-on leadership, team support, and ensuring smooth daily operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 months' experience as a Medical Receptionist in a GP practice.
  • Previous experience in a senior, team lead, or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of Best Practice, HotDoc, or similar practice management systems.
  • Solid understanding of Medicare, billing, and the Australian healthcare system.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a calm, professional approach.
  • Positive attitude, strong initiative, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the reception team to deliver outstanding patient service.
  • Support the Practice Manager with day-to-day clinic operations.
  • Coordinate daily reception operations and step in when the Practice Manager is away.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of reception and nursing staff.
  • Support doctors, registrars, and allied health professionals to ensure clinics run efficiently.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance systems and workflows.
  • Monitor clinic performance and support operational goals.
  • Maintain compliance with privacy, risk management, and practice policies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including reporting, banking reconciliation, and roster coordination.

This is more than a reception role. You'll be a trusted leader within the clinic, working alongside the Practice Manager to keep operations running smoothly, support your team, and deliver an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through the door.

  • Centrally and conveniently located above Museum Station across from leafy Hyde Park

  • Conveniently located near Showground Metro Station at Showground Village
  • Long term team and supportive Management

  • Near Royal North Shore Hospital, walking distance to St Leonards Train Station and Crows Nest Metro Station
What You'll Be Doing

You'll be the go-to person for the reception team, helping to create a positive, organised, and efficient clinic environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and mentoring the reception team to deliver outstanding patient service
