Key Health is growing and seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to lead the front desk across its expanding network of clinics in Sydney. You will work closely with the Practice Manager to keep operations smooth, support your team, and deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience as a Medical Receptionist in a GP practice.
• Previous senior, team lead or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Best Practice, HotDoc or similar PMS.
• Solid understanding of Medicare, billing, and the Australian healthcare system.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with a calm, professional approach.
• Positive attitude and genuine passion for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the reception team to deliver outstanding patient service.
• Support the Practice Manager with day-to-day clinic operations.
• Coordinate daily reception operations and cover when needed.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of reception and nursing staff.
• Support doctors, registrars and allied health to ensure clinics run efficiently.
• Manage patient enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Drive continuous improvement of systems and workflows.
• Monitor clinic performance and support operational goals.
• Maintain privacy, risk management and practice policies.
• Assist with admin tasks including reporting, banking reconciliation and rostering.

This is more than a reception role. You'll be a trusted leader within the clinic, working alongside the Practice Manager to keep operations running smoothly, support your team, and deliver an exceptional experience for every patient who walks through the door.

What You\'ll Be Doing

You\'ll be the go-to person for the reception team, helping to create a positive, organised, and efficient clinic environment.

• Leading and mentoring the reception team to deliver outstanding patient service
• Supporting the Practice Manager with the day-to-day running of the clinic
• Coordinating daily reception operations and stepping in when the Practice Manager is away
• Assisting with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of reception and nursing staff
• Supporting doctors, registrars, and allied health professionals to ensure clinics run efficiently
• Managing patient enquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and care Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance systems and workflows
• Monitoring clinic performance and supporting operational goals
• Maintaining compliance with privacy, risk management, and practice policies
• Assisting with administrative tasks including reporting, banking reconciliation, and roster coordination

What You\'ll Bring

We\'re looking for someone who leads by example, enjoys supporting others, and thrives in a busy healthcare environment.

• At least 12 months\' experience as a Medical Receptionist in a GP practice
• Previous experience in a senior, team lead, or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of Best Practice, HotDoc, or similar practice management systems
• A solid understanding of Medicare, billing, and the Australian healthcare system
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
