Job summary

ResMed is seeking a Senior Engineer, Automation/Mechatronics Engineering – Research & Technology to lead exploration, development, and maturation of automation tech for future manufacturing.

You will translate manufacturing challenges into technical concepts, build prototypes, and demonstrate scalable solutions, collaborating across mechanical, electrical, controls, sensing, and software domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Robotics Engineering, or related field.
• Significant hands-on experience developing automation and mechatronic systems.
• Strong understanding of integrated mechanical, electrical, control, and sensing systems.
• Experience with prototypes and proof-of-concept equipment.
• Experience with PLC, robotic, motion-control, or industrial automation systems.
• Ability to translate problems into clear engineering requirements.
• Excellent communication skills across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate emerging automation technologies for future manufacturing capabilities.
• Translate manufacturing challenges and future product requirements into technical hypotheses and experimental plans.
• Design and build proof-of-concept systems to rapidly test new ideas.
• Develop modular and reusable automation concepts transferable across products and platforms.
• Progress technologies from laboratory concepts toward production-relevant demonstrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable manufacturing readiness.
