Job summary

ResMed in Sydney is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join the Intelligent Masks team. You will work across sensors, embedded electronics, firmware, and control systems to develop next-generation pneumatic and sensing technologies for sleep products.

You will prototype, test, verify and translate concepts into manufacturable solutions, collaborating with design, systems engineering and manufacturing teams in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience developing mechatronic, electromechanical or embedded products.
• Experience prototyping and integrating hardware, firmware and sensing technologies into working systems.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, embedded firmware, signal acquisition and debugging tools.
• Understanding of control systems engineering and closed-loop control.
• Experience planning and conducting product testing, experimentation or verification activities.

Responsibilities

• Drive development of exploratory sleep-related products from ideas to prototypes.
• Design, prototype and integrate electromechanical subsystems with sensing, embedded electronics and firmware.
• Develop and evaluate closed-loop control systems for sleep technologies.
• Support pneumatic and airflow-management technologies including valves and pumps.
• Plan and conduct bench testing and early-stage verification to guide direction.
• Analyse results and translate findings into product improvements.
• Contribute to simulation, modelling and system-level investigations.
