Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Supervisor to join our team in regional Victoria to provide site supervision and coordination within Brownfield SMP Projects and Maintenance Stay in business environment from September.

The Senior Construction Supervisor will oversee multi-discipline activities executed by Contractors on the On-Plot Facilities to ensure works meet the Project/Construction Execution Plan, Scope of Work, quality and safety standards, and align with overall project objectives.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years’ experience in Oil and Gas facilities construction supervisory or field engineering.
• Experience managing contractors in line with a contract.
• Experience working to Australian Standards and codes.
• Ability to understand and articulate Company Standards and performance expectations to contractors.
• Experience in risk mitigation to enable timely project delivery.
• Experience in Workfront planning and execution management.
• Experience in schedule and cost management.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Project control and reporting systems.
• Solid proven knowledge of risk management techniques.
• Sound computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision/assurance of multi-discipline activities (Structural, Mechanical, Piping) conducted by Contractors.
• Ensure works are performed in accordance with Project/Construction Execution Plan and Scope of Work.
• Coordinate on-site with Wood and Contractors to optimize the execution schedule.
• Supervise Wood and contractor personnel to achieve targets.
• Support development and approval of Scopes of Work and Work Method Statements.
• Interface with Client and other stakeholders on-site.

Scope of Work

• To support the Site Delivery across Projects and Maintenance Scopes.
• To manage works to the highest level of safety (Target Zero) and environmental requirements
• To manage works to the specified quality, constructability, operability and cost effectiveness targets
• Pre-Construction input into Constructability Reviews, Planning and Model Reviews
• In some cases, self-perform activities under direction of the Project Manager.
• Coordinating on site activities with Direct Wood and Contractors in the optimization of the execution schedule
• Supervise direct Wood and contractor personnel, in achieving agreed targets
• Support the development and approval of Scopes of Work and Work Method Statements
• Support on-site interfaces with the Client and other stakeholders.

It is essential that the incumbent hold the following qualifications/certificates:

• Relevant Technical / Trade Qualification and or Degree Qualification (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation and Piping)
• Construction White Card
• Current Drivers Licence

It is essential for the incumbent to demonstrate experience and/or knowledge in the following:

• 10 – 15 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Facilities construction supervisory or field engineering role
• Demonstrated experience in managing contractors in line with a contract
• Demonstrated experience working to Australian Standards and codes
• Ability to understand and effectively articulate Company Standards and performance expectations to contractors and the worksite generally
• Experience in risk mitigation to enable timely project delivery
• Demonstrated experience in Workfront planning and execution management.
• Experience in schedule and cost management
• Ability to understand and manage change effectively
• Demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team
• Project control and reporting systems
• Solid proven knowledge of risk management techniques
• Sound computer skills
