Job summary

Snowy 2.0 project in NSW seeks a Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical to lead the end-to-end delivery of mechanical systems including potable water, firefighting, HVAC and lifts. You will coordinate shop drawings, technical submissions and field interfaces, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and project requirements.

You will manage installation, testing, commissioning and handover, liaising with procurement, discipline teams and subcontractors, while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience delivering mechanical systems on major infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing systems from shop drawings through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Strong knowledge of potable water/water treatment, firefighting, HVAC/ventilation and/or lift systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics and equipment schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and coordination of mechanical shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with electrical, controls/BMS, fire detection, civil and BIM teams.
• Identify and resolve design gaps, clashes and site constraints before installation.
• Support procurement by reviewing proposals and long-lead equipment requirements.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams during construction and installation.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure work meets drawings, ITPs and quality requirements.
