Job summary

Future Generation Joint Venture is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical to lead end-to-end delivery of mechanical systems, including potable water, fire protection, HVAC and lifts, across the Snowy 2.0 project. You will manage shop drawings, reviews and field coordination, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience delivering mechanical systems on major projects.
• Experience from shop drawings to handover.
• Strong knowledge of potable water, firefighting, HVAC and lifts.
• Proficient in BIM coordination and document control (Aconex or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple mechanical packages and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and coordination of mechanical drawings, submissions and RFIs.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces with electrical, controls/BMS, fire detection, civil, structural, architectural, communications and BIM teams.
• Identify and resolve design gaps, clashes and site constraints prior to installation.
• Provide technical support to procurement and review proposals and long-lead equipment.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams during construction and installation.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor progress and ensure work follows approved drawings and quality requirements.
• Monitor milestones and risks; assist variation and claim assessments.
• Support project closeout with documentation and handover readiness.
