Tweed Shire Council is seeking a senior mechanical maintenance leader based in Chinderah, NSW, to direct a team of tradespeople across water and wastewater assets. You will plan daily programs, guide technicians, and ensure safe, efficient repairs and preventive maintenance.

This permanent, full-time role offers a base salary of AUD 87,689– AUD 103,869 per year, plus 12% super, a 76-hour, 9-day fortnight, and a commuter vehicle. Flexible work options and training opportunities are provided.

Qualificações

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson with relevant trade certification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and assets.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills for field staff.
• Experience with maintenance management systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and support a team of mechanical tradespeople, apprentices and support staff to deliver maintenance and repair activities across Council's water and wastewater assets.
• Coordinate daily work programs, allocate tasks and provide hands-on technical guidance to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, fault finding and corrective repairs on pumps, mechanical equipment, treatment plant infrastructure and associated systems.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by working closely with field staff to ensure safe work practices are followed at all times.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and equipment failures, providing technical expertise to minimise disruptions to water and wastewater services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of mechanical operations by identifying opportunities to improve processes, reliability and service delivery.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call roster and provide emergency response support for critical water and wastewater infrastructure when required.
