Job summary

AE Smith SA in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator for the Eagle Farm branch. You will deliver high-quality estimates, grow sales and service management, and foster a strong HSEQ culture across projects in the region.

The role requires a mechanical qualification with extensive estimator and senior sales experience, and a track record of successful client engagement on major Australian assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an estimator role.
• At least 10 years in the projects/maintenance sector.
• Proven experience in senior sales management or a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and detailed estimates aligned with specs and regulations.
• Provide technical advice to project teams and peers.
• Lead and promote a strong HSEQ culture in area of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain effective client relationships.
• Contribute to strategic planning for growth and service delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and field audits to inform estimates.
• Identify and manage commercial and technical project risks.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project success.

Due to our continued growth we have an opportunity for an experienced HVAC Estimator to join the our Eagle Farm branch. Our projects are technically complex, highly rewarding and a landmark for Brisbane and wider SE QLD.

Job Summary:

As Senior Mechanical Estimator, you'll support our Maintenance & Projects business by delivering high-quality estimates, fostering a strong HSEQ culture, and ensuring efficient service. You'll build key relationships and help grow sales and service management in the region for long-term success.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate and detailed estimates that align with technical specifications and statutory requirements.
• Provide technical advice to project managers, supervisors, and peers.
• Lead and develop a strong HSEQ culture within your area of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain effective client relationships.
• Participate in strategic planning for business growth and service delivery improvements.
• Conduct site inspections and field audits to gather insights and develop reliable estimates.
• Identify and manage commercial and technical risks associated with projects.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Trade or Engineering Qualification (Mechanical) - preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an estimator role
• At least 10 years of experience in the projects/maintenance sector
• Proven experience in senior sales management or a similar role within a competitive business environment
