Job summary

Hysata Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Manufacturing team, responsible for the design, build and improvement of the tooling, fixtures and equipment that underpin our in-house manufacturing capability.

This is a role for a mechanical design engineer who wants to make an instant impact from both a hands-on and a computer-based design standpoint — someone equally comfortable on the factory floor with a tool in hand as they are at the screen developing new designs in CAD.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a similar field.
• Hands-on capability to build, modify and commission what you design.
• Proficiency in NX (CAD) and fabrication techniques.
• Experience delivering tooling, equipment and process development.
• Self-starter with initiative and problem-solving mindset.
• Contributed to product/process design through DFMA/DFMEA and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of in-house tooling to scale manufacturing.
• Design, build and improve tooling, fixtures and equipment.
• Take tooling from concept through CAD design, fabrication, build and commissioning.
• Provide hands-on support to troubleshoot and optimize production equipment.
• Collaborate with Design, Assembly and Process teams on cell architectures.
• Prototype rapidly using 3D printing, machining and laser cutting.
• Define and execute validation plans with the team.
• Develop SOPs and safety protocols for new tools and processes.
