Job summary

Anduril Industries Australia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to drive design, analysis, and deployment of the XL-AUV program. You will own mechanical solutions, work across design, test, and sustainment, and ensure compliance with maritime standards while supporting end-to-end lifecycle execution.

Requirements include a relevant engineering degree, domain experience, and the ability to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
• Professional experience as Mechanical Engineer across domains/tech.
• Ability to work holistically on complex mechanical systems.
• Technical owner for complex components including stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Capability to learn and grow in a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed plans and specifications for XL-AUV designs.
• Develop mechanical designs, prototypes and complex structures.
• Perform simulations and modal/spectral analyses.
• Ensure designs meet maritime standards and regulations.
• Act as technical owner for components with stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
• Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end-users/vendors.
• Support development processes for full lifecycle testing and deployment.
